Flyby news story:
Jessica Alba gave birth to her second child in August this year, but you wouldn’t be able to guess it by looking at her enviable figure today. Speaking with InStyle magazine, she reveals how she managed to lose the pregnancy weight so quickly. As her fans must already know, Jessica is a mother of two: Honor and Haven. Being pregnant a second time really helps put things into perspective, she explains.
Not only is she no longer making the same mistakes she made after she gave birth to Honor, but she’s also made sure she took better care of herself during the second pregnancy. As the saying goes, Jessica learned from her mistakes – and this also happened to apply to her weight gain.
“[When I was pregnant] with Honor, I didn’t make the healthiest choices when it came to eating. All of a sudden, I had gained over [30 kilos / 66 pounds]. I stopped weighing myself after that,” she recalls.
Since she had a very hard time shedding all that weight after she gave birth, the second time around she made sure she no longer put herself in the same difficult position.
“With Haven I didn’t gain as much, so [afterward] I was closer to where I felt comfortable in my own skin,” Jessica explains.
To maintain her figure, she now works out with a personal trainer, three times a week. She and husband Cash Warren sometimes work out together, thus getting to spent more quality time as a couple.
“It’s fun and another way we get to spend time together,” Alba says.
In the same InStyle interview, she also touches a bit about her pregnancy style, one that landed her over the summer on the best dressed celebrities list.
The idea was to always go for an outfit that could compensate for the troubles of pregnancy.
“I didn’t want to feel frumpy. I still wanted to feel beautiful, elegant, chic and playful-if I could. Especially because you feel so sick, hot, achey, swollen and all of those wonderful things that come with being pregnant,” Jessica explains.
Jessica Alba is also using her experience with motherhood to come out with an “eco household-and-baby consumer product line,” called The Honest Company.

Jessica Alba is all about giving back — and she’s determined to pass the goodwill on to her daughters, too.
Supporting the idea that it should all start at an early age, the actress is already teaching her 3½-year-old daughter Honor Marie the importance of helping others.
“We’re starting to talk to her about it,” Alba, 30, told PEOPLE during the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies luncheon Dec. 2 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“Keeping her humble and not trying to over spoil her and letting her understand that there are people that don’t have what she has.”
And it’s a lesson Alba and husband Cash Warren are ready to put to the test with a sweep of Honor’s closets.
“We’re going to do a clean out of things that she doesn’t need anymore and can give to a child who doesn’t have that,” she explains. “There are ways you can introduce it, for sure.”
Honor is also learning how to help out with her little sister Haven Garner, 4 months. “She helps me change her, she loves that. She helps me feed her,” Alba shares. “When she’s fussy she entertains her. She really is a great help.”
So what parenting tips would Alba give to other famous moms-to-be like pal Jessica Simpson?
“I’m friends with her so I’m going to talk to her about that personally,” she laughs.
